Millville Library’s Gnome Scavenger Hunt Kicks Off June 1 — Don’t Miss the Auction!
Millville, get ready for some summertime fun! The Millville Free Public Library is gearing up to bring back the much-loved gnome scavenger hunt this June. From June 1st to June 30th, charming garden gnomes will be placed around town—from public lands to local businesses—available to spot from dawn to dusk each day.
After last year’s fantastic turnout, where 23 gnomes were hidden at spots like the fire department, police station, and more, the library plans to host a smaller hunt this year, with about 10 gnomes set to appear throughout the community. The gnomes come in various sizes, with last year’s largest reaching an impressive 3 feet tall. Each is handcrafted with care by Millville Free Public Library Trustee Colleen Curis.
New this year, the library is excited to announce a gnome auction! Many people expressed interest in buying the gnomes after last year’s event, so this time, participants will have a chance to bid on their favorites once the hunt wraps up.
The Board of Selectmen officially approved the event at their May 19th meeting, ensuring everything is set for a safe and fun month.
