Blooming Good Deeds: Volunteer with Your Local Garden Club

Hey Blackstone and Millville neighbors! Do you enjoy the beauty of flowers, the satisfaction of growing your own food, or simply want to make our towns even more lovely? Then the Blackstone & Millville Garden Club has a fantastic opportunity for you to get involved!
Did you know that back in 2021, some wonderful folks from both Blackstone and Millville decided to join forces and create a garden club right here in the community? This amazing group is made up of local volunteers who are passionate about all things green, and they’re always looking for more helping hands – no prior gardening experience necessary!
What Does the Garden Club Do for Blackstone and Millville?
The Blackstone & Millville Garden Club is a busy bunch, and they do so much to benefit our community! Here are just a few of the ways they make a difference:
- Nourishing Neighbors: The Garden Club lovingly tends to the Community Garden of Millville. The incredible part is that all the delicious and fresh crops grown in this garden are then donated to the Blackstone & Millville Food Pantry, helping to provide healthy food for families in need right here at home.
- Sprouting New Beginnings at the Senior Center: Get ready for some green at the Blackstone Senior Center! Working with Blackstone Parks & Recreation, the Garden Club is excited to be starting a new garden project at the Blackstone Senior Center. This will be a wonderful way to bring beauty and therapeutic gardening opportunities to our seniors.
- Making Our Towns Shine: The Garden Club is also involved in several beautification projects around both Blackstone and Millville. They work hard to plant flowers, maintain green spaces, and generally make the towns more visually appealing for everyone to enjoy.

Why Volunteer with the Garden Club?
