Blackstone’s Twice Treasured Thrift Store Makes a Difference

Twice Treasured Thrift Store in Blackstone MA Is Making a Big Difference in a Small Town
In the heart of downtown Blackstone, tucked inside the parish hall of Divine Mercy Church, is a local gem that’s doing far more than reselling secondhand goods. Twice Treasured Thrift Store in Blackstone MA is a volunteer-run store that gives back to the community, one donated treasure at a time.
Founded after a 2021 yard sale raised nearly $3,000 for the church’s stained-glass window restoration, the shop quickly grew into something more permanent — and more impactful.
That event showed the parish there was a real need for a permanent thrift store where people could donate and shop with purpose.
Sheila Landry, the shop’s manager, said many parishioners were eager to contribute, and the shop was created to be a welcoming space. “We take great care to price items fairly and offer our visitors a place to shop for great values,” she shared.
Giving Back, Every Day
Today, Twice Treasured Thrift Store in Blackstone MA continues to be operated entirely by volunteers. Its proceeds now support ongoing parish maintenance — from helping replace worn doors to assisting with upkeep of the historic 1851 church building.
Each year, the shop also funds a $1,000 scholarship for a graduating student from Blackstone-Millville Regional School District. The 2024–2025 recipient was Alyssa Tomassini, part of a growing legacy of community impact.
What You’ll Find at Twice Treasured Thrift Store
With multiple rooms and themed departments, the shop is clean, cheerful, and thoughtfully curated. Popular finds include:
- Country-style decor and handmade wreaths
- Seasonal holiday items
- Jewelry, collectibles, and vintage treasures
- Gently used small home goods and accessories

Visitors often stop in just to browse, chat with volunteers, or share in the warm atmosphere. As Landry shared, “Twice Treasured is more than a thrift store. It’s a place where strangers become friends and friends reconnect.”
Donating to Twice Treasured
Twice Treasured Thrift Store accepts donations on:
- Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays
- Between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
Items should be clean and in new or like-new condition.
The shop does not accept:
- Clothing
- Furniture
- Electronics
- VHS tapes
Due to limited space, holiday items are accepted only within one month of the holiday. Please do not leave donations outside the building.
Jewelry, vintage pieces, and unique collectibles are especially appreciated — and tend to find new homes quickly.
A Strong Team Giving New Life to Items and Supporting the Community
“I may be the manager, but nothing could be accomplished without the incredible team of volunteers from both the parish and the community,” Landry emphasized. “There is no ‘I’ in team.” These volunteers not only help keep the shop running smoothly but also enjoy connecting with visitors and supporting the church’s mission.
Thrift shops like Twice Treasured provide a sustainable way for local parishes to support their communities by giving gently used items new homes. This effort reduces waste while raising funds for important causes, making it a true win-win for both people and the planet.
