Choosing a preschool can be a stressful decision. Blackstone and Millville residents can relax – there’s several preschools available in the area including one run by the Blackstone-Millville Regional School District (BMRSD).
As of January 2021, BMRSD has started accepting applications from parents who wish to have their child be considered for the general education component of the Integrated Preschool Program. General education children must be without 2 or more special education needs and will be in a class with up to 8 students who may receive special education services.
The Blackstone-Millville Regional School District offers an inclusive preschool program for 3-to-5 year old town residents located at Millville Elementary School. To know more about it, watch the virtual class tour done by the three MES teachers: Susan Colgan, Kat Boisvert, and Stacey White below.
The BMRSD Preschool Program, housed at the Millville Elementary School, is a full inclusion preschool program that recognizes that family/parents are the first teachers of their children. The program follows the guidelines of the Massachusetts Preschool Learning Experiences and Standards. These standards are recognized by the NAEYC, a nationally accreditation organization for preschools and daycare. BMRSD works with families of children ages three through five forming a partnership for quality early education and care. The faculty and staff value the uniqueness of each young child and are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and positive environment. BMRSD’s Preschool Program focuses on a balanced set of activities appropriate for young children while the curriculum gives equal regard to all areas of development: cognitive, social, emotional/aesthetic, and physical.
This coming school year, the BMRSD Preschool Program will be integrating the World of Wonders curriculum by McGraw Hill. The World of Wonders curriculum is an early childhood literacy program that builds strong pre-reading skills and social-emotional success while introducing children to key content areas like math, science, social studies, music, and movement.
