Four years ago, my husband and I fell in love with the Town of Blackstone and decided to make it our forever home. It was the sense of community and potential for greatness that made us settle here and raise our little family. Today, I feel that our town has reached a critical moment in its evolution where we must decide whether we want to move forward on a new and brighter path towards change and improvement; or, do we instead want to continue with the status quo down the same tired and worn path.
It is for this reason that I have decided to run for the recently vacated seat on the Board of Selectman and have officially pulled my paperwork to do so. It is my belief that 2021 is the year for change in our town and with some specific initiatives, I am confident that I can help drive real and meaningful change in this next year. It will take a lot work, trust, and a little faith from the community to help transform Blackstone into the town it is meant to be. I have never been afraid of a challenge; instead I tend to thrive on it and feel that I can help turn this town around for the better.
If you are looking for real change to happen, then please consider signing my nomination paperwork so that we can take the first step in the right direction.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHANGE
Focus on properly defining, establishing, improving, and documenting all our processes. Driving efficiency in our processes will increase the value of our tax dollar.
Bringing accountability back to our town will ensure that we are making the best possible decisions in the interest of the town by eliminating the amount of time wasted on distracting activities and unproductive behavior.
Rebuilding the relationships between the community and their elected officials requires a reinvention of how we communicate, engage, and solicit feedback from the entire population.
Making information accessible, reliable, secure, and timely is critical to the success of our town; investing in technology for today as well as for the future will ensure that we never fall behind and that we have controls in place to maximize the services we pay for.
