The Council of Aging is bringing back its annual Giving Tree program. The program provides gifts to Blackstone residents who need support during the holiday season. With the COVID-19 pandemic, some families may need more support than ever.
The Blackstone Giving Tree hangs ornaments with written requests for donations on designated Christmas trees around Blackstone – these will be located at the Blackstone Town Hall, Dean’s Bank, Unibank, and St. Paul’s Church once available.
The Council of Aging is calling for applications to be a recipient of the Giving Tree. If you or if you know someone who is in need of help this holiday season, applications are accepted until November 16, Monday at the Blackstone Senior Center.
See below message from the Council of Aging
It’s that time of the year to begin planning for the holidays. For us, it means making sure all the families we serve have gifts to open as they celebrate the holiday season. The Blackstone Giving Tree was created in response to the overwhelming interest the Community had in helping during the holiday season. Last year we were able to deliver gifts and happiness to over 100 individuals. As we kick off our 2020 Blackstone Giving Tree we are asking all our community friends to consider supporting our efforts this year.
If you know someone who is in need of help this Holiday Season, Applications will be available starting October 5th thru November 16 at the Blackstone Senior Center at 15. St. Paul St. Blackstone.
