2019 Halloween Activities at Blackstone, MA

Make sure you’ve got your calendars updated for Halloween activities this year, here’s a list of Halloween-related events and activities we’ve collected in town.

Haunted History of New England

Organized by the Blackstone Public Library
Open to adults and young adults ages 14+. Registration required.

When: Tuesday, October 15 at 6:30PM
What: One-hour slide presentation that incorporates video footage. The presentation melds historical fact together with legend and myth to produce an interesting and fascinating new look at events that really happened and the stories of haunting that followed them.
The Lecturer: Christopher Daley has been lecturing on topics of historical interest for over 25 years. He has lectured all over New England at libraries, schools, historical societies and all sorts of clubs and organizations.

Craft a Pet Ghost

Organized by the Artful Dodger Ceramics and Painting Studio
Open to everyone! Registration required, limited slots only.

When: October 16, 7PM-9PMWhat: Craft your ghost here at the Artful Dodger studio and bring it home for some Halloween fun. Simple materials make for a fun night and cute Halloween decoration, all for the modest fee of $10. RSVP to secure a spot at artfuldodgerstudio@gmail.com

Halloween Craft

Organized by the Blackstone Public Library
Open to young adults in 5th to 12th grade. Registration required.

When: Thursday, October 17 at 6PM
What: Join us to create a unique and spooky Halloween magnet using some basic supplies and a little bit of vintage creepiness.

Dr. Junglestein’s Spooktacular Halloween Show

Organized by the Blackstone Public Library
Open to kids ages 3 to 11 years old. Registration required.

When: October 22, Tuesday 6:30PM
What: This silly, fast-paced performance features the Thriller dance challenge, a mummy balloon wrap extravaganza, Ghostbusters training and a giant, six-foot balloon. Please be advised that this program uses latex balloons during the show.

Nefarious New England with Sarah Hodge-Wetherbe

Organized by the Blackstone Public Library
Open to young adults in 5th to 12th grade. Registration required.

When: Thursday, October 24 at 6:30PM
What: In this presentation we look at some of the most famous cases from each state, and tell the tales that have entertained generations of New Englanders. Decide for yourself if you out to sleep with the lights on.

Trunk or Treat

Organized by the Blackstone Elementary Parents Organization (BEPO)
Open to AFM and JFK students and families only. Registration required – extended until October 17. Trunk and Treat information available here.

When: Friday, October 25 or Friday, November 1; 6:30-8PM
Original Trunk or Treat date October 18 not pushing through, read more here.
What: Staff and Volunteers decorate their trunks in all kinds of themes. Children (and adults) come dressed in costumes and trunk or treat from car to car.

Price per student is $5.50 Parents are FREE of charge!

Halloween Paint Night

Organized by the Artful Dodger Ceramics and Painting Studio

When: Friday, October 25 at 7-9PM
What: Halloween is a fun time for the little ones, so why not have some fun yourself? Come in and join us for a night of Spooky painting! Good company, hot cider, snacks and you get to bring home a Halloween themed painting that Dr. Frankenstein’s monster would be proud of…

20th Annual “Nightmares in the Library” Halloween Party

Organized by the Blackstone Public Library
Strictly for ages 3 – 11 years old. Registration must be made in person and requires the parent/guardian to have an MA library card in good standing.

When: Saturday, October 26 at 4PM
What: Feast upon some creepy crawly treats, make some frightfully fun crafts and hear several spooky stories! “Petrifying” pizza will also be served (sorry, we cannot accommodate dietary restrictions). Don’t forget to wear your costume!

Halloween Party & Pasta Dinner

Organized by the Blackstone Lions
Open to everyone!

When: Tuesday, October 29, 6PM-11PM
Dinner served from 6-7:30PM
Music, Raffles, Pictures
Awards for Scariest/Funniest & Most Original Costumes (Adult and Child Divisions)
Where: Millerville Mens Club – located near Stop & Shop on Pulaski Blvd, Bellingham.
Tickets $8 for adults, $5 for kids (4-12) and Seniors
