State Officials Announce Additional Aerial Spraying for EEE in Critical and High Risk Communities
Residents urged to continue to protect themselves against mosquito bites.
Massachusetts Department of Agriculture Resources (MDAR) is scheduled to begin spraying this evening and continue into next week in parts of Middlesex, Worcester and Norfolk counties. Blackstone will be one of the communities that will get sprayed in full so lets hope for good weather tonight and in the coming nights.
So far, Massachusetts has had seven human cases of EEE. One person has died. There have also been nine confirmed cases of EEE in animals, including eight horses and a goat. Blackstone residents are encouraged to learn more about EEE and find ways to protect themselves.
